Areas of Practice
Medical Management
We help coordinate good medical care to treat the injury (including any type of therapy/therapies), attend their appointments with them, and provide updates to the parties on their medical treatment.
Coordinate a Return to Work
The QRC assists in communicating between the injured worker and the employer to complete an efficient and successful return to work.
Vocational Counseling
The QRC is educated and trained in providing vocational/career counseling in order to assist the injured worker in returning to work.
Functional Capacity Evaluations
FCE's are completed by physical and/or occupational therapists. These are ordered by physicians to determine possible temporary or permanent work restrictions. The QRC will use these restrictions to aid an injured worker into finding a more physically suitable job for them.
On-Site Analysis
The QRC will visit employers and review the injured workers daily tasks. That information is used to communicate the physical demands of the job to the parties involved and to help coordinate a return to work.
Job Seeking Skills Training
The QRC can assist and instruct the injured worker on some job seeking skills to help them with finding suitable, gainful, employment. This includes resumes, cover letters, interviewing skills, etc.
Job Placement/ Development services
The QRC may recommend job placement/development services if a return to work with the date of injury employer is not feasible. This will aid the employee in finding a new job with a new employer.
Vocational Testing
The QRC may recommend vocational testing in conjunction with job placement/development services and/or when formulating a Re-Training Plan. The testing will provide insight as to what the injured employee’s interests, aptitude, and achievement levels are.
Labor Market Surveys
QRCs complete these to get an idea of what the job market is like for certain occupations. These are used primarily when recommending job placement/development services or re-training.
Retraining Plan
In the event where an employee can't return to their old employer or find a suitable new position with a new employer, the QRC can formulate a Re-Training Plan for the injured worker to acquire additional education/training. The end result should be placing someone within an occupation that is considered suitable and gainful employment.
Transferable Skills Analysis
These are completed by the QRC to determine what transferable skills the employee may have that could be utilized within various occupations.
Court Testimony
QRCs are sometimes requested to testify in court proceedings regarding the injured worker’s vocational rehabilitation process.
